Love in Silence

Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder
The one who said that hadn’t seen her
Her glittering eyes shone brighter than gold
Her lips made many secret desires unfold

Her graceful walk made me stand and wait
And my eyes followed her charming gait
She smiled at me and left me speechless
There wasn’t a night I didn’t spend sleepless

I finally found words, I opened my heart to her
She replied saying she would love me forever
Together we explored love’s hidden treasures
And enjoyed many of life’s lovely pleasures

Sharing ups & downs that kept coming in a while
And all the sweet nothings that made us smile
Being with her was in itself like heaven
We were the envy of all men and women

Then came a sad night after all our happy days
For the first time in our lives we parted ways
We thought we were made for each other
And God had suddenly changed the weather

First it was spring, which blossomed every lane
Now came monsoon that kept showering pain
We met everyday but never uttered a word
Yet the screams of the heart were clearly heard

The silence between us was driving me insane
As my wounds kept calling her again and again
The next time I greeted her with some flowers
She accepted them and we sat silent for hours

This has been repeating every night for ten years
And the only thing that we've exchanged is tears
Today is no different, again we have nothing to say
I placed the roses on her grave & knelt down to pray
